Il Foglio, che la sa lunga, pubblica oggi la riflessione di un editorialista di Asia Times - rivista online fondata ad Hong Kong nel 1999, tra le più interessanti sulla gopolitica in Asia e non solo - che si firma con lo pseudonimo di Spengler. E che viene introdotto così in un riquadro:
“Nessuno conosce la sua vera identità, di sé Spengler dice soltanto di essere un uomo di mezza età. Nei suoi scritti cita la Bibbia, Kierkegaard e Clausewitz, mai Oswald Spengler, il pensatore tedesco cui potrebbe aver rubato il nome, che considera ‘un atroce razzista’. Nella sua agenda, spiega, c’è la promozione delle radici giudaico-cristiane”.
In realtà, Spengler è Uwe von Parpart, un eclettico protagonista della comunità di intelligence americana.

Wxre ha un debole per Tremonti, si sa, anche e soprattutto per il Tremonti dell’ultima, bellissima intervista a Minoli: “Ma lei crede in Dio?”, domanda finale e lapidaria di Giovanni, “Sì” risposta secchissima del Divo Giulio.
Però la mostra dell’Angiola, la sorella artista del Divo Giulio, appena inaugurata nella chiesa di Alzano Lombardo (Bg) con l’aiuto del prete-critico-d’arte Don Lino Lazzari, ecco, questa ci lascia già un po’ più perplessi. Non per il tema, il mistero della maternità, ma per la collocazione. Perché a differenza di quanto dice il sito della Mazzoleni Art Gallery, la Chiesa in cui è allestita la mostra, quella di S. Michele, non è affatto sconsacrata. E la descrizione che ne fa la stessa Angiola sul suo blog, a noi fa venire qualche piccolissimo dubbio...:

CONEGLIANO. Il parroco prega insieme a gay e lesbiche contro l’omofobia e le discriminazioni. E’ successo ieri mattina, quando i promotori del circolo gay «Shake» hanno partecipato ad una messa nella chiesa di San Pio X prima dell’inaugurazione del loro circolo.

In Austria (tra parentesi la foto sopra è del Gay Pride di Vienna 2007) sono più avanti. Accanto ai classici servizi pastorali, la Diocesi di Linz ne ha istituito uno con sacerdoti, responsabili di Azione Cattolica, anche un pastore protestante (un tocco di ecumenismo non fa mai male) contro la discriminazione di gay e lesbiche e il loro pieno inserimento nelle comunità ecclesiali.

Aoun promises to reduce US influence if he gets the chance

Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) leader MP Michel Aoun said Wednesday that Syria had dominated Lebanon as a United States proxy. "But when the Syrians withdrew from Lebanon [in 2005] the US direct hegemony was put into effect and it is a much bigger burden on us," Aoun told Qatari daily Al-Rai.
"I don' t say that we [the opposition] would defeat the US" if it gained power, he said. "But US influence in Lebanon would certainly decline".
Aoun also said that he was facing threats to his life, but did not say who was reposnible for the threats.
The MP defended Hizbullah' s communications network and pointed a finger at Prime Minister Fouad Siniora' s government, saying: "This network is as old as the resistance is. Why did they discover it now?"
Hizbullah' s weapons, according to Aoun, are "pointed at Israel. But who is luring them into the domestic arena? This is the question."
He also accused the ruling coalition of importing weapons through Beirut' s airport.
On Monday, Aoun said calling for the immediate electing of a new president without agreeing on a new electoral law for the 2009 parliamentary elections was against the interest of Lebanon' s Christian community.
Aoun accused the parliamentary majority of not wanting to draft a new electoral law.
"They don' t want to discuss the electoral law with us because they prefer to stage the next elections under the 2000 electoral law," Aoun said.
The FPM leader also warned the parliamentary majority against electing a new president with a simple majority quorum.
"Such a move is equivalent to a coup and will definitely be faced by another coup," he said.

On the issue of Hizbullah' s private telephone network, Aoun said that Hizbullah was not the only group that had such network, arguing that the opposition group was facing security threats and needed to protect itself.
Aoun also defended Hizbullah' s possession of arms and said that Hizbullah arms have deservedly earned a "certificate of good conduct."
Aoun added that Hizbullah' s alleged setting up of cameras to monitor the Beirut International Airport was not a breach of the country' s security.
"Everybody has cameras. The road to the [Metn town of] Bikfaya is full of cameras and so are other areas in the country," he said, hinting that leaders of the ruling majority were also using cameras for security purposes.
The FPM leader also lashed out at the Lebanese An-Nahar daily, arguing that the newspaper has " lost its ethical principles and deserves not to be read anymore."

(L'ORIENT LE JOUR) - 10 MAG - Le chef du Courant patriotique libre, le général Michel Aoun, a estimé hier que l’occupation de Beyrouth-Ouest pat le Hezbollah et le mouvement Amal constitue «une victoire pour le Liban», soulignant que les événements d’hier ont «replacé le train sur la bonne voie».
«Aujourd’hui (hier) est une victoire pour le Liban et non pas (une victoire) d’une partie sur une autre. C’est une victoire dans le sens d’un retour au pacte national, au rééquilibrage entre les composantes de la société libanaise. Cet équilibre était rompu, ce qui avait provoqué des problèmes politiques, des interférences internationales et une atteinte à la stabilité. La crise dure depuis plus de deux ans et demi. Je me suis adressé par le passé aux pays étrangers et au Conseil de sécurité et je les avais prévenus que nous nous orientons vers une situation de confrontation. J’ai adressé une note à Ban Ki-moon et aux membres du Conseil de sécurité. Mais malheureusement, nous n’avons pas trouvé d’échos pour résoudre le problème. Je me suis adressé aux Libanais à plusieurs reprises pour leur dire de ne pas se procurer des armes car elles ne serviraient à rien.»
Et le général Aoun d’ajouter: «Face à cette insouciance manifestée par le gouvernement depuis le début du sit-in de 2006, nous leur disions de ne pas se comporter de cette façon à l’égard du Liban. Nous leur disions (à la communauté internationale) de ne pas appuyer d’une manière démesurée un pouvoir dont la dimension n’est pas à la mesure du Liban, mais d’une petite partie du Liban. Je leur disais de ne pas soutenir un pouvoir qui a marginalisé deux grandes communautés.
Aujourd’hui, nous reprendrons notre vie normale, nos routes et notre ville seront sûres. Nous envisagerons le passé récent pour découvrir les crimes qui ont été commis au Liban. Nous envisageons l’avenir pour construire le Liban. Ces événements ont replacé le train sur la bonne voie.»
Et de conclure : «Je voudrais tranquilliser les gens sur le fait que nul n’est menacé d’oppression. Mais ceux qui ont outrepassé leurs prérogatives, au niveau des responsables et non pas au niveau du peuple, sont susceptibles de se voir réclamer des comptes politiques. J’espère que cette journée (hier) s’achèvera sans que des rues restent fermées. J’espère que nous lèverons le sit-in dans le centre-ville et au Sérail en même temps.»
